Terrible Times

I come to the conclusion that we live in terrible times. Our living standard is high, our souls feel numb. Something does always feel weird. I look at the teenagers of this generation on the streets, and they seem savage and hostile. The geeks, the majority, hides at home. While we build our paradise at home, the streets are occupied by those who think the thrill of technology lies in cellphones with speakers.

The people who used to say that videogames make our kids stupid had silent hopes that they were wrong. If only puzzle games were in the majority. Soon, all control over outlets of aggression will be in the hands of businessmen, who have even less moral and ideals than politicians.

Everything that could have prevented our society from degenerating has been declared as sacred and forbidden. New laws will take the rest. Perhaps this is a democratic meditation. One by one, any source of ecstasy vanishes through lawmaking. What remains is free of passion. Social tranquility will only be declared on paper at first. Medical science will call disobedience a symptom and advise treatments. Like raw woods are cut down to baroque gardens, humanity will change its shape according to its vision. I foresee a dull and gray result.

Until then, let's have another moroccan mint tea. Cheers :)

As sad as this outlook on life is, I am going to have to agree...
