I Need Your Suggestions

After months of inspirational drainage, I have begun to prepare work on my next album. I am already kicking around a few ideas, like using more cultural references, being more political, avoiding rhymes in order to convey more information.

Not that I don't have enough ideas, but I want you people to have a say in this (also, I want to know who of you is reading my blog.). If you have any topic you would like to hear about on my next album, no matter what kind of topic, please be not afraid to post a comment to this blog entry.

If I get only two entries, those will constitute the entire spectrum of themes for the next album, so better jabber as much as you can.

Something inspired by the new White House puppy?!

Let me know if I can lend a musical hand (or voice).

:D

I prefer music that is free of political agitation, although I really liked "enemies of freedom" feat. g.w. bush. Breaking away from rhymes and doing more spoken word style things seems to be an idea worth exploring. :)

scy, you did a song about "bielefeld", how is that not redigestion of public interest?

of course everybody likes surprises. and i am certainly going to use these suggestions as hints or indication of tendency, not as by-the-book instructions, so there are plenty of surprises possible.

additionally, i don't think that most people who enjoy my music will take part in this survey, only those who are interested in an intimate development process. they hardly represent the general public, and their interests are specific - these are interesting to me.

i forgot the third counterargument.

ah, i remember the third argument.

also, this blog post and communication with the audience is already part of the artistic performance, and contributes to the result.

Disaster scenarios:

1. Sudden and permanent loss of gravity on Earth. (I wish someone would make a horror movie about this)

2. Strangelets / Ice-Nine slowly crawling over the planet surface, converting everything in to strange matter.

3. America is submerged in the ocean due to a massive-scale sink hole and all the people living in the US take residence in the other continents.

heh.

Wow, you're giving your readers a lot of leverage. :P

I don't care a whole lot for politically-charged music/art, but when done correctly (e.g. reflecting timeless principles) it can be poignant.

Let's see, musically: I enjoy melody, or layers of sound/music, or good hard rhythm. Or all three at once. :) I don't particularly enjoy the rap-type songs, but that's just me.

i'd like to hear a song about nothing, and, at the same time, everything. with rhymes please. :P

a song about the beauty of DRECK would be nice, too. because DRECK is such a pretty word and because all sorts of DRECK are quite some good source for inspiration.

having read http://www.edge-online.com/blogs/the-ethics-persuasive-games for breakfast, I tend to very much agree with Tina_Russell's comment: I want your lyrics to pose questions, not give us answers. A musical fight club, if you will.

Educational music.

I have no idea how. But if it made me do a dinner I've never made before that would do more than any music ever did to me.

Hi !

I'm from Mexico and I discovered you web page by accident, and now I'm a fan of you.

I love your music because it is not Psycho, is not House, is not Trance, is not Electro. Your music is just Paniq's. That's why I'm waiting for your new album.

May be a good inspiration for you would be the book "Eternal Golden Braid" by Godel, Escher and Bach.

I would like to see you make a return to the style of your "Achillesverse" album, at least for some songs ;)

How about some collaboration with other artists? I've once asked Hazel (soundofhazel.com), he didn't answer on that but he admitted to know you and liking some of your tracks. If done right, I'd think collaborating with some guys you don't really know yet but make similar music, could be a great experience for you and your fans.

I like surprises within songs, like the flawlessly blended laughter within "zwerchfell" (although I don't like that song very much)

more melody, less mindless repetitive stuff

I like your demo soundtracks and "elektronische musik" :)

do you happen to read terry pratchett? the book "soul music" is one of my favourites, right after "thief of time".

terry pratchett inspired music would be AWESOME.
