So from today on, I'll stop using IRC. No, really.
For the past 10 years, I have been spending most of my time on IRC channels, getting to know other people, enjoying information fresh from the source, spreading my work. I tried to be abstinent for a while, but it never worked out. Maybe because abstinence for the sake of it is no more reasonable than being in a chat room all the time.
But when I read other peoples Blogs, I often wished I had written more. I was often dreaming of writing a good short story, or maybe even some kind of novel novel, but my attempts at writing never managed to account to anything. I used to give up very early on writing, after about one to two pages, to quickly post a link to my attempt to IRC. The reception within my circle of friends can be described as restrained.
And then, guessing about the reasons of not writing very much, I noticed that I had in fact written a lot, just not in a way that aggregated and conserved it for whoever would care about it in the future. There were a lot of literal gems left in my logs that I was too busy to care for, because I was already producing new gems.
I have been thinking about quitting back and forth. Once I give up my immediate outlet, I am forced to aggregate, think deeper, wash and purify my thoughts. If the craft is well exercised, writing on a blog produces an impressive archive of thoughts over time. Or so the theory goes.
For all my fellow friends on IRC who are desperately in need of knowing what I am up to, I suggest writing to me on this blog, or contact me on ICQ (26545111) or Skype (paniq303). For those who love twitter, I am also occasionally commenting on my daily affairs on http://www.twitter.com/paniq.
I am still searching for a good place to drop MP3 previews. Any suggestions?

whatever your plans might be... please dont abuse twitter for chatting. ;)
@sir-yoda: don't worry, twitter is strictly one-way for me ;)
so you're collecting gems now instead of rushing through the levels of life? at least a way to gain more points - in case one can trust the great giana sisters...
scy: nicely said. :)
Huhu paniq :>
In meiner Playlist lief gerade etwas von Dir (paniq - i cant do anything) und so habe ich spontan einmal nach Dir gegoogelt. #sexforce ... lange ist es her ;-)
